Emotional Wellness at The Stop
Our Emotional Wellness Peer Support Program offers low-barrier opportunities for community members to connect, access helpful resources, and build relationships in a supportive environment. The program takes place during our weekly drop-in programs at both our 1884 Davenport and 729.St Clair (Wychwood Open Door) locations.
What We Offer
At The Stop, we recognize that while access to good food is essential, people also need meaningful connection, practical support, and spaces where they feel welcomed and valued.
Peer Support and Resource Sharing
Community members can visit our peer engagement tables to access essential information, ask questions, and learn about community resources. Topics change throughout the year and may include tax clinics, legal resources, free community events, organizing tips, navigating difficult conversations, and staying safe from scams.
Creative Wellness Activities
Creative activities provide opportunities to slow down, express yourself, and connect with others who share similar interests. Through art and hands-on projects, participants can explore creativity in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.
Personal Care Items
Participants can access essential personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and socks. Seasonal items—including hats, gloves, and hoodies—may also be available throughout the year. Community members also receive a small wellness zine featuring self-care tips, puzzles, and helpful resources.
The Importance of Emotional Wellness
Strong communities are built through relationships rooted in trust and respect.
Many participants tell us the Emotional Wellness program helps reduce isolation, provides a sense of belonging, and gives them something to look forward to each week. Others share that having someone who listens without judgment can make a meaningful difference during difficult times.
By combining peer support, creative activities, and practical resources, we hope to support participants in strengthening their emotional well-being while building lasting connections with others.
