Community Building at The Stop
We support community members in ways that nourish both body and mind. From perinatal care through Healthy Beginnings, to emotional wellness activities and hands-on learning in our community kitchens, participants gain skills, build connections, and feel supported.
Healthy Beginnings
Healthy Beginnings is The Stop’s perinatal program, supporting families during pregnancy and early parenting.
Participants can attend workshops, connect with other families, share nutritious meals, and receive food hampers and transportation support. Our program is designed to be low-barrier, culturally sensitive, and community-focused, helping parents build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Community Kitchens
Community Kitchens is our community cooking program, which runs by season to prioritize food that is fresh, accessible, and on the budget in Ontario.
The program offers the opportunity for participants to connect with one another, develop food skills, and to celebrate cuisines from all over the world. During each of the sessions, participants, volunteers, and staff gather to prepare and enjoy, all together, delicious and nutritious meals.
For questions or schedule details, please email communitykitchens@thestop.org.
Emotional Wellness
The Emotional Wellness Peer Support Program works to provide resources and opportunities for people to come together in our Drop-ins in three different ways: personal care item distribution, art tables, and a peer engagement group.
These activities take place at both our 1884 Davenport Road and Wychwood Open Door locations.
